There are an estimated over a 10 million dogs and 4 million cats are killed for the meat trade annually, with a vast majority of those that are stolen pets. Up until a few months ago Chinese cities of Shenzhen and Zhuhai have introduced city-wide bans on Dog and Cat Meat consumption, the national government also publicly stated that dogs are considered companions not livestock. The major issue being that the Government and Authorities are not implementing The Ban therefore Dog Meat Traders, Traffickers. Animal Abuser are continuing this horrific trade.

More recently COVID19 Originated  from these sickening Wet Markets and Live Animal Markets which are hell holes for terrified Dogs and Cats who alongside suffering wildlife are tortured, beaten, skinned alive, boiled, blow torched and abused for Human Consumption.

These contaminated Animal Markets are not only a DANGER to Animals but also to Human Health, as they are a breeding ground for a second Pandemic. As well as spreading other fatal deadly viruses such as Rabies, Cholera, Ebola, SARS, Swine Flu, SARS2, Bubonic Plague and more recently discovered as confirmed by the World Health Organisation the Second more Deadly Strain of the Coronavirus to hit Europe to spread Worldwide.

China is the world's largest dog meat market, with 97,000 tonnes produced each year.

Despite producers claiming the meat comes from legal ‘dog meat farms’, it led to an epidemic of dog thefts from pet owners, with one study finding that 87 percent of households in one village lost a dog in the last few years.

Gangs of dog thieves capture strays and pets, sometimes through the use of anaesthetic-tipped needles shot from blow pipes or crossbows.

Dogs are typically bludgeoned to death in front of each other, put into a dehairing machine to remove fur, and then blow torched for sale to markets.

Dogs are being stolen around the world and being shipped to China either to be bred in puppies or sold to the Dog and Cat Meat Trade. The UK have seen a high increase of dog being stolen

The Government and Lack of Enforcement and Legislation

Earlier in the year it was announced that Chinese cities of Shenzhen and Zhuha would Ban Dog and Cat Meat. Although the legislation has been passed the Government are failing in Enforcing the Ban has yet to take effect.

 

WE RESPECTFULLY ASK THAT THE PRESIDENT

Implement existing laws Against animal cruelty, maltreatment and neglect.
Provide funding for trap, neuter and release programs to prevent street dogs and cats from breeding.
- All dogs and cats to be vaccinated against rabies.
