It is estimated that 30 million Dogs and 10 million Cats are killed every year for the Dog and Cat Meat Trade in particularly  China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cambodia, India, Thailand Japan, South Korea, North Korea, Vietnam ,Indonesia and Philippines. Many countries in Asia have zero Animal Welfare Laws and those countries which have Animal Welfare Laws or say they have Outlawed The Dog and Cat Meat are not being enforced by the Government or Authorities, Countless Dogs and Cats are being murdered and tortured in Pakistan ,Lao, Myanmar, Bali, Azerbaijan ,Afghanistan ,Azerbaijan ,Afghanistan, Hong Kong , Iran, Jordan ,Malaysia, Mongolia ,Oman, Saudi Arabia ,Syria, Tajikistan ,Turkmenistan ,Uzbekistan and Yemen.

Many Dogs and Cats are being stolen from homes and backyards, with vast amounts of stray Dogs and Cats that are also being snatched from the streets, Terrified Dogs and Cats are being crammed onto trucks to where they endure dehydration, starvation, exposure to extreme cold and heat, broken limbs, shock and disease. Where they end up in either in slaughterhouses, Dog Meat farms, Dog Meat Restaurants or Live Animal Markets to be slaughtered for Human Consumption.

These contaminated Animal Markets are not only a DANGER to Animals but also to Human Health, as they are a breeding ground for a second Pandemic. (COVID19) As well as spreading other fatal deadly viruses such as Rabies, Cholera, Ebola, SARS, Swine Flu, SARS2 and Bubonic Plague .

The reality of this Barbaric and Horrendous trade across Asia Tens of thousands of Dogs and Cats are being Tortured, Abused, Skinned Alive Blow, Torched Mutilated, Boiled Alive, Hung, Shot and Beaten for Human Consumption.

• Across Asia, there is increasingly vocal local opposition to this trade due to Cruelty, Criminality and Human Health concerns. There are many activists and charities in Asia that are protesting on a daily basis saving Dogs and Cats. With the help of charities such has HSI, Four Paws and Caged and many more.

• Yulin in China is a Dog-meat focused event where thousands of Dogs are slaughtered in the most horrific way for Human Consumption. This happens every year in the month of June despite the Ban of Dog Meat in China it still took place and legislation was not enforced.
  

  In South Korea More dog meat is consumed during BokNal than during other times of year in the month of August . With the whole month of Dogs being slaughter for human consumption. To all the animals everyday is Yulin and Boknal.

• The World Health Organisation has warned that the Dog and Cat Meat Trade, slaughter and consumption of Dogs and Cats poses human health risks from Trichinellosis, Rabies, Cholera, Ebola, SARS, Swine Flu, SARS2 and Bubonic Plague.

• Dog meat bans exist in Hong Kong, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand and Singapore and most recently Indonesia pledged support for a ban but still these countries and many other do not implement or enforce the ban and the horrific trade continues.

Below are the Countries in Asia that are profiting from the suffering of animals for countless years. Traffickers Dog Meat Traders, Animal Abuser, Criminal are all apart bariatric sickening Multi Billion dollar industry where animals are tortured, abused , kept in horrendous conditions and all for money and greed.

Not only these animals have suffered for years due to the Barbaric Trade and Sickening Traffickers and Dog Meat Traders, the lack of responsibility and legislation from the Government with no enforcement of Animal Welfare Law and Health and Safety measures taken and thus has contributed to a global pandemic which we are all facing today. Government of All Nations are not taking measures to tackle the root of the issue to stop a further Global Pandemic.

There is a great need for education and understanding that Dogs and Cats are companion animals. In the last month there has been break through with Shenzhen being the first Chinese country to Ban Dog and Cat Meat, with  Zhuhai becoming the second. There is a loophole that the government aren’t actually making it illegal therefore Traffickers, Dog Meat Traders , Live Animal Markets are still happening therefore the disgusting trade is still goes on .

Countries in Asia where there are no Animal Welfare Laws Bali, Sri Lanka, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan ,Azerbaijan, Afghanistan. Hong Kong, Iran ,Iraq ,Jordan Malaysia Mongolia , Oman ,Saudi Arabia , Syria ,Tajikistan , Turkmenistan Uzbekistan  & Yemen  

Pakistan :

Thousands of dogs are being killed in the streets of almost all the cities of Pakistan. The Government of Pakistan kills more than 50,000 dogs each year. There are no Animal Protection laws, no criminal offence laws against Animal Abusers and an open policy of killing stray dogs on an yearly basis. There are no animal rescue schemes or shelters provided by the government. The concept of shelter for animals or animal rescue organizations in Pakistan is far from reality. Even the general public appreciates the killing of thousands of dogs each year. In 2009, 27,576 dogs were killed within the city of Lahore alone. In 2005, this number was 34,942 for the city of Lahore. Karachi and Lahore have the highest rate of dog kills each year with more than 20,000 dogs killed in these two cities alone . For smaller cities the average rate of dog kills per year is in the range of 3000 to 6000 dogs .This needs to stop !

Sri Lanka

Due to COVID19 many countries like Sri Lanka are killing thousands strays Dogs are being killed with lethal injections. Such cruel measures could be avoided with a proper policy of sterilisation and implementation and Enforcement of Animal Welfare Laws .

Overview Of Horrific Barbaric Dog and Cat Meat Trade in Asia

China:

An estimated 10+ million dogs and 4 million cats are killed for the meat trade annually, with a vast majority of those that are stolen pets. There is no nationwide animal protection legislation in China, however in recent weeks the Chinese cities of Shenzhen and Zhuhai have introduced city-wide bans on dog and cat meat consumption, and the national government also publicly stated that dogs are considered companions not livestock. Issue being that the Government and Authorities are not implementing The Ban therefore Dog Meat Traders, Traffickers. Animal Abuser are continuing this horrific trade.

 Vietnam: An estimated 5 million Dogs and 1 million Cats are killed every year despite laws and regulations being in place to make it illegal. Implementation is extremely poor, with traders having a total disregard for law enforcement. In 2018, Hanoi government officials called for an end to the Dog Meat Industry, citing health and public image concerns. A pledge to phase out the slaughtering and trading of dogs for meat by 2021 is yet to be actioned, but a nationwide crackdown is needed to avoid the trade simply shifting elsewhere.

Indonesia: An estimated 2 million Dogs and significant number of Cats are killed a year. In addition to slaughterhouses and dog meat-selling restaurants operating throughout most provinces of Indonesia, in dog meat-eating areas such as North Sulawesi, live dogs and cats are sold and slaughtered in live animal markets, where conditions are incredibly unsanitary, and domestic and wildlife animals and meats are sold alongside each other. The Dog Meat Free Indonesia (DMFI) coalition has conducted nationwide investigations documenting the inherent cruelty, illegality and dangers of the Dog and Cat Meat Trades.

South Korea: There are up to 2 million dogs a year are intensively reared on Dog Meat farms, without veterinary treatment or basic welfare such as water provision. There are hundreds of Dogs Farms in Operation with the help of charities such as Korean. Org who are raising awareness and working with charities across the world to shut them down.

North Korea ;More recently people in North Korea are being forced to give up their pet dogs so they can be used as dog meat for restaurants.The move by the leader Kim Jong Un is thought to be aimed at appeasing rising discontent among the public amid a dire economic situation in the secretive country, including food shortages. The Dog and Cat Meat Trade is still operating in North Korea thousands of Dogs and Cats are being slaughtered for Human Consumption everyday.

Cambodia: Up to 3 million dogs are killed each year ,with an unknown number exported into Vietnam for consumption. . Supplying the demand, dogs are routinely snatched from the streets, stolen from homes, or traded for aluminium pots and pans and trafficked across the country to slaughterhouses and restaurants. There are more than 100 dog meat restaurants in the capital city of Phnom Penh alone, most having opened in the last 2-3 years.
